Lovable generates a website or a web app from a simple conversation. The user describes what they want, Lovable writes the code, hosts it and puts it online. The tool popularised vibe coding, a way to build software without writing code. For a prototype or an internal tool, it saves considerable time. For a B2B brand website, its limits matter more.

    What is Lovable?

Lovable is a Swedish company founded in 2023 in Stockholm by Anton Osika and Fabian Hedin. The tool grew out of GPT Engineer, an open-source project, before being renamed Lovable in December 2024. In August 2026, the company raised $400 million at a $13.3 billion valuation and reported hosting 60 million projects (Lovable on Wikipedia).

Lovable presents itself as an AI software engineer. It creates pages, logic, authentication and the database, then publishes to a lovable.app domain or to your own. The code can be synced with GitHub.

    How do Lovable credits work?

Lovable bills usage in credits. The cost of a message depends on the complexity of the task. The Lovable pricing page gives examples.

    • Make a button grey: 0.50 credit.
    • Remove the footer: 0.90 credit.
    • Add authentication with sign-up and login: 1.20 credits.
    • Create a landing page with three generated images: 1.70 credits.

Plan mode costs one credit per message. Monthly credits expire two months after they are granted, and free daily credits at the end of each day. On a project that needs many iterations, the real budget quickly exceeds the listed price.

Lovable for a B2B website: the points to watch

Lovable excels at MVPs, dashboards and internal tools. A B2B brand website has other requirements.

    • How pages render for Google and AI. An app generated in React must deliver its content in HTML to bots. Without that check, the site may stay invisible, as our guide to SEO for LLMs explains.
    • Marketing team autonomy. Every change goes through a prompt that uses credits. A CMS like Webflow lets the team publish without touching code.
    • Visual identity. In our neobank website test, the first AI-generated version still looked like "an interface straight out of Claude Code or Lovable". Our article on Claude and the Mobbin MCP shows how to move past that generic look.

For the design phase, we work with Claude and its Skills, which recall the client's design system on every generation. Our article Claude + Skills to design a homepage compares this workflow with Lovable and Bolt (video in French).

    Our review of Lovable

Lovable is one of the fastest ways to go from an idea to a working app. It opens software creation to non-technical profiles and serves concept validation very well. For a brand website that needs to rank on Google and in AI, we recommend a CMS built for content.

    Strengths

    • An app online in minutes, with no technical skills.
    • Hosting, database and authentication included.
    • GitHub sync to take the code elsewhere.
    • Design systems available from the Pro plan.

    Limits

    • A credit cost that is hard to predict on a long project.
    • A marketing team that depends on prompts for every change.
    • A visual result that stays generic without art direction.
    • SEO and readability by AI to check page by page.

Validated your concept on Lovable and want a lasting B2B website? Our Webflow agency designs sites your teams manage on their own and that both Google and AI understand.

Lovable compared with Claude Code, Framer and Bubble

    • Claude Code targets developers and works in their own environment.
    • Framer and Webflow are visual editors built for marketing websites.
    • Bubble builds no-code web apps, with a visual editor instead of a chat.
