For the vast majority of professional projects in France, a website costs between €1,500 and €30,000. A landing page ranges from €800 to €4,000, a presentation site from €1,500 to €12,000 depending on the provider, a B2B site with branding, CMS and SEO foundations from €10,000 to €30,000, and an online store from €5,000 to €50,000. The same word covers a page delivered in a week and a platform built over three months, and the type of site weighs more than the provider in the final price. These ranges come from the quotes we write as a Webflow agency and from those our prospects share with us when they compare several offers. We cross-checked them with the Malt freelance rate barometer, Webflow's public pricing and INSEE data on how French companies are equipped. This article gives the price by site type, by provider and by line item, the monthly running cost, the specific case of a redesign and a method for reading a quote.

Amounts are exclusive of tax and media budget. They describe professional sites delivered by a third party. A site built by yourself on an online builder appears in the tables to mark the floor, nothing more.

The type of site sets the budget before the choice of provider

INSEE counts 69% of companies with 10 or more employees equipped with a website in 2023. The quotes we see for creating or replacing these sites fall into seven formats, and each format calls for a different volume of work. A landing page takes a few days and a single skill. A B2B site with a CMS, a design system and an SEO architecture takes several weeks, a designer, a developer and a content profile. An online store adds the catalog, payment and logistics, and its budget depends as much on the number of products as on the design. The table gives the ranges observed for a site delivered by a professional, excluding recurring costs.

Website cost in France by site type, observed ranges excluding recurring costs, September 2026
Type of siteObserved rangeUsual providerScope included
Template or online builder site€0 to €1,500Yourself, junior freelancerAdapted template, a few pages, no structured SEO
Landing page€800 to €4,000Freelancer, agencyOne page, one conversion goal, tracking
Simple brochure site (3 to 6 pages)€1,500 to €5,000Freelancer, small agencySemi-custom design, form, basic SEO
Custom brochure site€5,000 to €12,000Specialized agencyFigma mockups, CMS, technical SEO, training
Premium B2B site€10,000 to €30,000Specialized agencyBranding, design system, content, SEO and AEO, CRM integrations
E-commerce site€5,000 to €50,000Agency, integratorCatalog, payment, logistics, product pages
Custom platform€30,000 and upAgency, product studioMember area, API, multilingual, automations

Within a single row, the range stretches with the number of page templates, the presence of a CMS, multilingual support and copywriting. Moving from one row to the next changes the nature of the project. A custom presentation site and a premium B2B site can share the same level of design. The second adds branding, content and SEO architecture. These three items double the price. On a typical project for a consulting firm, design rarely accounts for more than a third of our quote. The rest covers positioning, copywriting for the service pages, the collection structure and structured data, in other words the work that turns a site into a lead generator rather than a brochure. Two rows have their own guide, the cost of a brochure site and the cost of a Webflow site. The sections below cover the line items common to every format.

For the same scope, the provider makes the price vary threefold

This difference buys design time, specialization and a team that stays after delivery. It does not always buy a better site. A twenty-person agency bills its overhead in every quote, and a senior freelancer sometimes delivers a more accomplished site than a generalist agency, provided they cover design and SEO alongside integration. The table places each category on a professional website of five to ten pages, without a store.

Cost of a 5 to 10 page website by type of provider, with billing method and main limitation of each option
Provider5 to 10 page websiteBilling methodMain limitation
Online builder (Wix, Squarespace, Hostinger)€15 to €40 per monthSubscriptionYour time, technical and SEO ceiling

Freelancer: €510 per day on average on Malt

The Malt barometer for web integrators shows an average daily rate of €510 for experienced profiles active over the last three months, €285 for zero to two years of experience, €553 beyond fifteen years. A five to ten page site takes five to fifteen days of work depending on the level of customization. The calculation gives the range of €1,500 to €8,000. A freelance quote under €1,500 for a complete site therefore describes either a junior profile or a template adapted in two days.

The risk lies in skill coverage. An integrator alone rarely delivers brand work. A designer alone rarely delivers a fast site structured for search. In the freelance quotes our prospects show us, copywriting and SEO appear as options or do not appear at all, and the displayed price covers the integration of a mockup more often than its design. A freelance quote is therefore to be read alongside the list of skills it does not cover, and completed with the cost of those skills elsewhere.

Generalist agency: coordination is paid for, specialization is missing

A generalist agency adds a project manager and a guarantee of continuity. It bills the coordination between design, development and content, and that coordination has real value for a client with no one in-house to steer the project. In return, part of the production goes to subcontractors and the proposed CMS depends more on the agency's habits than on the client's needs. When the website, video, social media and print sit on the same brochure, the pages are often built by an external provider the client will never meet. The question to ask remains the same as for a freelancer, who actually builds the site.

Specialized agency: the method is included in the quote

An agency specialized in one platform and one target bills a method already proven on comparable projects. At Noqode, the quote includes SEO architecture, loading speed and client autonomy on the CMS by default. On a B2B site, we deliver in the same package the Figma mockups, the Webflow integration, the collection structure, the tags, the redirects and training on administration. Elsewhere, these lines are options, and two quotes for the same amount then do not describe the same site. A prospect comparing our proposal with a freelancer's compares a complete site with an integration. Our premium sites with integrated SEO start at €5,000, advanced projects sit between €10,000 and €30,000. Our rates are public.

Five items make up a quote and none disappears on a simple site

Their weight varies from one project to the next. A €4,000 quote that mentions neither scoping nor content is not cheaper than a €7,000 quote that includes them. It shifts those two items onto the client, who will pay for them in time spent, in change orders or in a delayed launch.

  1. Scoping and site architecture. Workshops, competitor analysis, definition of pages, journeys and conversion goals.
  2. UX and UI design. Wireframes, Figma mockups, mobile version, design system if the site is meant to grow.
  3. Development and CMS integration. Mockup integration, animations, collections, responsive, accessibility. On a store, the catalog, checkout and logistics connections are added.
  4. Content and SEO. Writing or migrating copy, tags, internal linking, structured data, redirects.
  5. Testing, launch and training. Browser tests, tracking, forms, domain transfer, administration training.

The development item also drives performance, and performance drives the site's return. Portent measured on more than 100 million page views that a site loading in one second converts three times better than a site loading in five seconds. Clean integration, optimized images and hosting with a CDN are part of the price of a professional site. A quote that treats them as options sells a site that will convert less.

Four variables then move the total. The number of distinct page templates, since each template is designed and integrated separately, and a thirty-page site on four templates costs less than a ten-page site on ten templates. Multilingual support, which multiplies content and complicates the structure. Integrations, CRM, appointment booking, payment, client area, each with its own configuration and testing time. And copywriting, absent from most low quotes even though it determines search results and blocks more launches than any bug.

A website costs between €20 and €100 per month once live, excluding stores

These costs are independent of the creation price and run as long as the site exists. They belong in the budget from the quote stage, because a client who discovers the hosting subscription six months after delivery experiences it as a hidden cost. A store adds its platform subscription and transaction fees.

Recurring website costs by item, monthly or yearly orders of magnitude, observed in September 2026
ItemOrder of magnitudeNote
Domain name€10 to €20 per yearYearly renewal, in the company's name
Webflow hosting$15 to $25 per monthBasic and Premium plans billed yearly, CDN and SSL included
WordPress hosting€5 to €50 per monthPlus updates and paid plugins
E-commerce platform (Shopify, hosted WooCommerce)€30 to €400 per monthDepending on the plan, plus transaction fees
Maintenance and small changes€50 to €300 per monthUpdates, backups, fixes, new pages
Growth support (SEO, AEO, content)€1,500 per month and upEditorial production, continuous optimization, ranking tracking
Third-party tools€0 to €100 per monthAnalytics, advanced forms, chat, appointment booking

Webflow has overhauled its Site plans. According to the pricing page checked on September 12, 2026, the Basic plan costs $15 per month and the Premium plan, which replaces the former CMS and Business plans, $25 per month billed yearly. On Webflow, hosting replaces technical maintenance, hence the absence of a “security updates” line. On WordPress, that line exists and is paid every month, as a maintenance subscription or as a provider's hours when a plugin breaks the site.

Growth support is a separate decision. It turns the site into an acquisition channel and is budgeted like an advertising channel, every month. Over our last eighteen months, 24 sales opportunities out of 80 came from AI search, or €230,400 in pipeline, and none would have existed without regular editorial work on our own site. This item belongs to the acquisition budget, not to the cost of the site. Our growth support offer describes this scope.

A redesign costs as much as a new site, sometimes more

The opposite intuition is common, since the site already exists. In our quotes, a redesign sits between 70% and 100% of the price of an equivalent new site. Three items explain the gap. Content migration, to sort, rewrite and reorganize, because a five-year-old site carries pages nobody reads and pages Google still ranks. The redirect plan, without which the acquired rankings vanish in the weeks after launch. And the audit of the existing site, which decides between the pages to keep and those to remove. On a redesign, we start by exporting the pages that receive traffic in Search Console. A well-ranked page that disappears without a redirect takes its rankings with it.

The question comes up more often than people think. Orbit Media measured on web archives, for 50 major marketing brands, an average lifespan of 2 years and 1 month between two redesigns. A professional site holds for three to five years when its architecture was designed to evolve, with a CMS that accepts new pages without going back to a developer. We detail the steps of a successful redesign in a dedicated guide.

A quote is compared on its scope before its amount

Two €6,000 quotes can describe unrelated projects. We run this exercise with our prospects when they show us two or three competing proposals, and the price gap almost always narrows once the options are aligned. The cheapest quote rarely wins that exercise. The following elements bring proposals back to a common basis.

Check seven elements before comparing amounts

  • A breakdown by phase with a named deliverable for each, mockups, integrated pages, content, tests.
  • The number of page templates and the total number of pages.
  • The chosen CMS and the reason for that choice against the need.
  • The detail of the SEO work, tags, internal linking, redirects, speed, structured data.
  • Ownership of the site, the domain and the accounts, in the client's name from delivery.
  • Administration training and the maintenance terms after delivery.
  • A payment schedule tied to project milestones.

Five signals that justify setting a quote aside

  • A flat price with no description of the scope.
  • The mention “SEO included” with no detail of the actions.
  • A site hosted on the provider's account, with no transfer planned.
  • Copy to be supplied by the client, without support, on a quote that promises search results.
  • A delivery time under three weeks for a custom site.

The amount is then read over the site's lifespan. A €10,000 site kept for four years comes to €208 per month. A €3,000 site redone every two years comes to €125 per month, not counting the rankings lost at each switch or the time spent relaunching a project. The €80 difference per month buys a site that generates inbound requests instead of merely existing. For a firm where one engagement is worth several thousand euros, a single inbound contact per year covers the gap.

The budget is decided by the site's role in acquisition

Independent professional or very small business: €1,500 to €5,000

A simple presentation site is enough if the goal is limited to existing online and reassuring prospects who arrive by word of mouth. Four to six pages, a services page, an about page, a form. An online builder also works, provided you accept its search ceiling and the time spent building it yourself.

Firm, SME or B2B startup: €5,000 to €12,000

A custom site with a CMS and SEO foundations. At this level, the site becomes a sales tool, with pages per target, case studies and a blog run in-house. The CMS matters as much as the design, because the team must be able to publish a new page without going back to the agency.

SaaS or scale-up: €10,000 to €30,000

A premium B2B site with a design system, product pages, CRM integrations and an architecture built for growth. The design system lets you add a feature page or a landing page per segment without a new project. The monthly growth budget is decided in parallel. The site alone does not generate traffic.

E-commerce: €5,000 to €15,000, then €30,000 and up

A store on a standard platform sits in the first range. A large catalog with connected logistics or ERP exceeds the second. On this type of project, the monthly running cost weighs as much as the build, between the platform subscription, transaction fees and the apps added as needs arise.

The limits of these ranges

Our observations cover company websites in France, from presentation sites to B2B platforms. They cover large-catalog stores and web applications less well, where the budget depends first on custom development. Freelance rates come from the Malt barometer, which only describes profiles registered on that platform. And a low quote is not a bad quote. It often describes a narrower scope, to be read before comparing.

FAQ on website pricing

How much does a website cost on average?

Between €1,500 and €8,000 with a freelancer, €5,000 to €12,000 for a custom site with an agency, €10,000 to €30,000 for a B2B site with branding and SEO, €5,000 to €50,000 for an online store. The type of site and the scope of the quote explain the gap.

How much does a website cost per month?

Between €20 and €100 per month for a site without a store, domain name, hosting and tools included. Maintenance adds €50 to €300 per month, an e-commerce platform €30 to €400. SEO and content support starts around €1,500 per month.

Why do quotes vary so much for the same site?

The scope changes from one quote to the next. Number of templates, CMS, copywriting, SEO work and site ownership are not the same. Comparing amounts without aligning these elements amounts to comparing different projects.

Can you create a website for free?

Yes, with the free version of an online builder. The site displays the platform's advertising, lives on a subdomain and stays limited in search. This option serves to test an idea, not to carry a professional activity.

How much does a brochure website cost?

Between €1,500 and €5,000 for a simple three to six page site, between €5,000 and €12,000 for a custom site with a CMS and technical SEO. Our guide on the cost of a brochure website details this branch by CMS and by provider.

How much does an e-commerce site cost?

Between €5,000 and €15,000 for a store on a standard platform with a few dozen products. Beyond €30,000 as soon as the catalog is large or logistics and accounting are connected.

How much does a website redesign cost?

Between 70% and 100% of the price of an equivalent new site. Content migration, the redirect plan and the audit of the existing site offset the work saved on design.

Do you have to pay for a website in one go?

No. Common practice provides for a 30% to 50% deposit at signing, then a payment at each milestone, approved mockups, delivered integration, launch. Some agencies offer a schedule spread over several months.
